Ms. Suzan Crochet

Ms. Suzan Crochet has trained in the martial arts since the mid 1970’s. Her initial training was in Judo, but she switched to TaeKwon-Do in August of 1982. She received her first degree black belt certification in TaeKwon-Do in 1986. She earned her second degree in 1990, third degree in 1993, fourth degree in 1996, and fifth degree in 2000. She is currently a sixth degree black belt.

Suzan Crochet In 1992, she became the owner and chief instructor of Kansas TaeKwon-Do. In addition to her work at Kansas TaeKwon-Do, Ms. Crochet is the Midwest Regional Director for Phoenix Group TaeKwon-Do, an independent national organization within the International TaeKwon-Do Federation (Toronto, Canada).

Ms. Crochet participated in national and international competition for many years. She was a member of the United States team competing in European and World Championships in Russia, Scotland, Italy, and the United States. During her career in international competition she earned 11 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals in individual and team events. Ms. Crochet was the U.S. National Champion on the USTF Tournament Circuit in 1992, and earned All-Around Female Champion at the European Championships held in Scotland in 1996. She was the head coach of the U.S. Women’s and Junior Girls’ teams which competed internationally in 1996. During her year as coach, the teams won 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. Her students have earned various medals and awards in national and international championships, including All-Around Junior Champion in 1993 in Italy and 1996 in Scotland.

Ms. Crochet has been a public school teacher since 1980. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Psychology, and a Master of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis in Perceptual Motor and Developmental Delays and a minor in Behavior Management.
